I think that therapy can be an incredible tool for clients to use to improve their lives, whether it's navigating difficult relationships, overcoming obstacles, or just looking for a third party to talk to.  I want to improve the lives of my clients through the therapeutic relationship that is developed in therapy.  There is no cure-all for the challenges that we encounter in our lives and as a therapist, I can tailor our sessions to what will help you accomplish your therapeutic goals.  While I have worked primarily with youth in mental health over the past 9 years, I work with all ages and populations.

I graduated from the University of Utah in Social Work & Adams State University with a double major in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Welfare and Government.  I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, camping, video games, and snowboarding.

I believe that the first step for a therapist is to work to develop a relationship with clients
where there is trust, respect and caring. My clinical experience includes work with
children, adolescents, battered women, and adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, and
substance use disorders. I have also facilitated DBT groups for families and children. In
addition to my social work, I have been a teacher and mentor at the Waterford School in
Sandy, Utah for nearly two decades. Teaching has given me opportunities to work with
students, families, and colleagues to promote academic learning, social/emotional
learning, and to create an environment in the classroom that fosters growth.

These experiences have helped to prepare me as a therapist and solidified my belief in people's
ability to heal and progress. I see this process as a collaborative one with individuals as
we work together to identify their goals and to address their physical, emotional, and relational needs.

I am in my final year of my MSW program at the University of Utah. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Utah and a State Social Worker license. I love to spend time with my family. I also enjoy running, playing on team sports, reading, cooking, and music.

There is no one cure-all for the challenges of life and seeking help through therapy is a big step for anyone! I believe in supporting the strengths an individual has in order to help them find their best way forward through the challenges of life. I am currently a Master of Social Work Intern through Tulane University. Through Tulane, I study culturally relevant social work and use it to see the values and strengths passed down through an individual’s culture and their experiences. I believe in creating strong therapeutic relationships that can help a person feel safe and supported as they explore the challenges of their life. We all have strengths that can get us through hard things, and I believe in supporting individuals to find those strengths and use them. I use a holistic perspective and collaboration to find what works best for the client so they can build their coping mechanisms and tools to face life.

I have experience working in various positions in schools and hold bachelor's degrees from Utah State University in Secondary Education and Brigham Young University-Idaho in Marriage and Family Studies. I am also certified in cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). I enjoy spending my free time with my daughter, reading, doing yoga, and enjoying the beauty of Utah.
